What is MEMOSEO?
MEMOSEO is a portal that provides you with the opportunity to keep alive the memory of deceased family members, friends, relatives, acquaintances but also people who are an example to us all and the famous.

How can MEMOSEO be used?
• You can remember a deceased person yourself by setting a MEMOSEO Memorial Stone. You can visit this Memorial Stone at any time you wish.
• You can visit the Memorial Stones that have been set up by other people.
• You can enter your condolences on the Memorial Stones set up by other people.
• You can search for deceased people. Enter the name of the person you are looking for in the search screen. Or enter the town or city where you are searching.

How can I become a member?
Go to the menu point “register”.

Do I have to be a member?
If you want to set up a Memorial Stone, you log on once and you are then registered. You need not be a member in order to search in MEMOSEO.

Why was MEMOSEO established?
The founder wanted to commemorate and remember his own beloved grandfather. He also wishes to give other people the opportunity to go quickly and at any time to the place of remembrance.

What is a MEMOSEO Memorial Stone?
Using a MEMOSEO Memorial Stone you remember a person and commemorate them with a memorial.
At this location, your Memorial Stone, you can record your memories and your feelings and illustrate them. You are issued with a number so that you can find it quickly.

How can I set up a Memorial Stone?
Go to the “Set Memorial Stone” menu point on the Homepage. Follow the instructions that are given step-by-step and that are very easy to make.

Can I place pictures and videos?
Yes, you can include up to 6 photographs and link in videos using youtube.

How do I upload the photos?
When you set up the Memorial Stones enter where you want to upload the pictures from (desktop, server ...). Use the formats jpeg or bmp and photos that are no bigger than 1600 x 1000 Pixel.

MEMOSEO Condolence

What is a MEMOSEO condolence?
Condolence means expressing your sympathy for and grief felt with others. When you have known a person and wish to describe your feelings and record your memories of them or express your sympathy then you can do this with a MEMOSEO condolence. Your commentary will then appear below the Memorial Stone.

Can I add to an existing Memorial Stone?
Yes, you do this with a MEMOSEO condolence.

MEMOSEO search

How can I search for a deceased person in MEMOSEO?
Enter what you know about the person you are looking for in the Homepage search screen. This can be either the name, the date of birth, the place of birth, or other data. When there are several entries all the results are provided.

The cost and payment

What does a MEMOSEO Memorial Stone cost?
Between 0 and 30 EUR

There is a great deal of work involved in developing and maintaining MEMOSEO and its pages. Programmers and writers produce MEMOSEO and constantly keep the pages up-to-date – also protecting it against misuse. The amount of the fee charged depends on the duration the Memorial Stone is to be set for (5 EUR for 10 years, 10 EUR for 20 years, 15 EUR for 30 years, and 30 EUR for an unlimited period of time. The fee is used to cover the costs involved. Furthermore MEMOSEO has the object of using its income for supporting charities and valuable social purposes. MEMOSEO also provides the opportunity for those who do not wish to pay to use its services free of charge on even numbered days.

When is a MEMOSEO Memorial Stone free of charge?
A MEMOSEO Memorial Stone is free of charge for victims of natural catastrophes, wars, accidents, military actions and of crime. The Memorial Stone is free of charge on even days (e.g. the 2nd, 6th or the 22nd of the month). MEMOSEO thanks all users who pay a fee for the use of the service.

Misuse

Is misuse investigated?
Yes. MEMOSEO is based on a respectful relationship existing among people. Please report any case of misuse. We already do our utmost to ensure that there are no abuses or ill-willed entries and to delete these should they occur. Regrettably misuse can never be ruled out one hundred percent. This is why we are glad to rely on your support and help.
